nVidia kontratakuje

No to się porobiło. Jak donosi Vegita z FrazPC ok. godziny 20 dzisiejszego dnia(18.11.2002) nVidia ma zamiar zaprezentować oficjalnie GeForce FX, dla przyjaciół znany pod kryptonimem NV30. Podobno są już pierwsze partię firm: Abit, ASUS, MSI. NVIDIA GeForce FX 5800 ma podobno kosztować 400$(już w sklepie), zaś NVIDIA GeForce FX 5800 Ultra 500$(także w sklepie). Jak widzicie jest duże prawdopodobieństwo, że właśnie Ati traci pierwszeństwo na rynku wydajnych kart. Co wy na to?? Jako ciekawostkę dodam, że na PIV 2,533Mhz ma być ok. 23000 3DMarków(wersja 2001 SE). Zapraszam do komentowania.

GeForce FX In April 03?

Merrill Lynch is reporting to investors that the NV30 won’t ship until the April quarter, and even then, it will be the low rent part, at first. Given that NVIDIA, according to themselves, will not have a card out until February if everything goes perfect, it stands to reason that somewhere in the middle is highly likely. So with Merrill Lynch reporting to investors that the part might not be here until after that….and performance compromises reducing “compatibility risks” this is getting weirder by the minute. The first order of business for NVIDIA is to get NV30 off the ground. Though we picked up product specifics at the launch on Monday, we had a chance to get more detail on the timing of the ramp and remaining challenges yesterday. As expected, NVDIA has chosen not to use low-k dielectric on the NV-30, a decision which involves some performance compromises but also lowers the risk of any manufacturing miscues. With the part now qualified, waiting on system integrators to finish boards is the issue – that clearly is not going to happen until the April quarter.

 

It will be very important for NVIDIA to successfully ramp the lower-cost versions of NV3X in time to hit the April 2003 quarter, however. The successful launch of the high-end part will not be enough to support a revenue upturn in the April quarter. Management was not willing to answer questions about whether additional versions of NV3X have taped out, although the intention to hit the April quarter was reiterated during our conversation.

 

Remember, even if this report is considered worst case scenario, and what NVIDIA is saying being best case scenario, anywhere between the two is probably the most likely what will happen....Are you ready?

nVidia problem nawet nie jest smieszny, raczej przypomina mi v5 vs gt2 wojne i wiemy co sie stalo z 3dfx.

Napewno nie Polski :) Tak pisało na stronce, że tyle $ będzą kosztowały te karty w sklepach. Pewno chodziło o Amerykańskie. U nas trzeba dopisać pewno ze 100$ :(

Z tym, ze w Polsce trzeba dodac $100 to sie zgodze, jednak co do "amerykanskich" sklepow to nie. Tej karty nie ma na razie w sprzedazy i raczej dlugo jej nie bedzie.

 

Nie wiem skad ten Frazpc czerpie tego typu informacje. Mam tylko nadzieje, ze jedynym zrodlem nie jest dla nich Inquirer, ktorego nikt nie bierze na serio.
