S3 Power Mode

"The S3 mode, also called suspend or standby mode, is ideal for media PCs as it can turn on and off the PC within seconds. This is achieved by not shutting down the operating system but by "freezing" it into the RAM. Modern ATX supply units guarantees that the PC is absolutely quiet in suspend mode, just as if the PC was turned off normally. All fans, harddisks or other stuff inside the PC are turned off! Often you have to configure the S3 mode in the bios of the PC first, so that it really turns off these devices and does not only go into S1 mode.

 

If you worry about the power consumption: Our measurements have shown that the power consumption in S3 mode is almost exactly the same as if the PC is shut down normally. In worst case the consumption was at 1.8 Watts compared to 1.1 Watts when the PC was shut down. In most cases the consumption was below the treshhold which could be measured by us at all. Standalone devices like CD players, TVs or amplifiers usually need much more power in standby mode. So the S3 mode offers best conditions to be used in media PCs! It is supported by Windows® OS since Win 98b. "

 

Nie znam angielskiego chciałem się dowiedzieć czy to oznacza że w "stanie wstrzymania" komputer pobiera tylko 1.8W a przy normalnym wyłączeniu 1.1W ? (w przybliżeniu)

No to jestem tak troche pod wrażeniem, komp uruchamia mi się około 3-4 sek. czy aby napewno to jest "stan wstrzymania"? Tak szybko? Oczywiście żaden wiatraczek na procku i w zasilaczu nie chodzą, twardziel też nie.

Wszystko jest trzymane w ramie.

W instrukcji płyty głownej pisza ze jesli komp bedzie używany w trybie S3 to linia Std-by 5V musi mieć wydajność 1A.
